Ramblers Open Eight Game Home Stand vs. St. Bonaventure

CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago opens an eight-game home stand Saturday at Loyola Softball Park. The Ramblers host the St. Bonaventure Bonnies for a three-game series. Loyola and St. Bonaventure will play a doubleheader Saturday and single game Sunday. First pitch is 12 p.m. both days.
 
The Ramblers are honoring first responders and front line workers during Saturday's doubleheader. Students are also eligible for a Loyola themed cowboy hat giveaway.
 
Quick Hits
• The Ramblers picked up their second series win in Atlantic 10 play last weekend going 2-1 at Rhode Island. Loyola improved to 16-19 overall and 5-7 in league play.
• Both of Loyola's wins at URI were shutouts. The Ramblers took game one 3-0 and game three 6-0.
Peyton Pepkowski and Liz Sedakis won A-10 weekly awards following their efforts against the Rams.
• In the circle, Pepkowski picked up both wins and shutouts. She struck out 16 total batters and gave up just three hits in game one and four in game three en route to Pitcher of the Week.
• Sedakis was tabbed Rookie of the Week. She hit .500 (4-8). She had a double, four RBI and a run scored. Sedakis went 2-for-2 with a career-high three RBI in game one vs. the Rams before going 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, and run in game three.
Haley Wallace is on a 10-game hitting streak entering the weekend. The streak began against George Mason on March 23. She tallied two hits in the series opener. Wallace also had a pair of hits in game one at Rhode Island.
• Loyola's two shutouts at Rhode Island bring its season total up to seven. The seven shutouts is the most in the league.
• Pepkowski has five of those shutouts, which is also an A-10 high. She also ranks in the league's top-10 in ERA (6th/2.97), opponent batting average (3rd/.221), innings pitched (1st/122.2), strikeouts (1st/116), and wins (3rd/9).
• Head coach Alicia Abbott is in her fifth season at the helm. She has 85 wins with the Ramblers.
 
Scouting St. Bonaventure
The Bonnies are 2-25 overall and 1-11 in A-10 play heading into the weekend series. St. Bonaventure's lone win in league action came against Rhode Island on March 25, and the Bonnies have dropped 11 games since. They also have a non-conference win this year against Quinnipiac back on March 2.
 
Kymora Wang leads the Bonnies hitting .297 with 22 hits, including five doubles and two triples. Wangs also has 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. In the circle, Emily Phelan has pitched the most innings (61.0) for the Bonnies. She holds a 8.84 ERA and is 1-14 on the year. Phelan has retired 22 batters.
 
Mike Threehouse is in his 28th season leading the Bonnies. He is 346-769 overall.
