MILWAUKEE – Loyola Chicago men's basketball alum
Philip Alston will be joining the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Summer League this July. Alston worked out with the team earlier this year in May.
In his senior season, Alston earned All-Atlantic 10 Third Team honors after leading the Ramblers in scoring with 12.6 points per game. He shot just north of 45 percent from the field and averaged 4.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game.
Alston dropped at least 20 points five times last season, including a season-best 27 points at South Florida. He posted one double-doubles with a 21-point, 10 rebound outing at Rhode Island.
In his first season with Loyola, Alston led the team in scoring (14.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.6 rpg). He scored double-figures 25 times, which featured three double-doubles.
Prior to Loyola, Alston was an All-American at California (Pa.). In his sophomore campaign, Alston averaged 21.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He ranked second in Division II hoops with 21 double-doubles.
