CHICAGO – Loyola University Chicago men's soccer Head Coach
Steve Bode announced the signing of brothers Antonio and
Frankie Pinto to the team's 2025 roster, the program announced Friday.
Frankie and
Antonio Pinto attended Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Ill., and graduated in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Additionally, the duo played club soccer with FC United under the direction of Loyola Chicago Assistant Coach Oscar Rivero.
Antonio, a 6-foot-0 striker, scored 12 goals and tallied four assists in 14 games in 2024 with FC United. His squad made it to the round of 16 in the MLS NEXT Cup before falling to Weston FC.
"We're thrilled to add
Antonio Pinto to our squad," said Bode. "He's someone we've been recruiting for a long time, and we believe he has a lot of potential. Antonio possesses many great qualities as a player, but the one that stands out the most is his ability to get into the box and score goals. He demonstrated that skill often with his club team, and we believe that once he gets acclimated to Loyola and Division I, he can do the same with us."
Frankie, a goalkeeper, joins the Ramblers after a one-year stint at Augsburg University. Pinto started and played in 21 matches between the posts for the Auggies this season and earned a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week nod on Nov. 4.
Through the season, he racked up 75 saves, including a career-high six at Bethel on Oct. 15, for a .743 save percentage. His 1.38 goals against average ranked No. 5 in the conference.
"We're very excited to announce the addition of
Frankie Pinto," continued Bode. "He's a goalkeeper originally from Chicago, whom we recruited out of high school before he chose another school. This move to join us is a homecoming for him and his family. We're thrilled to have him join our goalkeeper unit and push to make himself and our team better right away."
