PHILADELPHIA —
Jack McFeely's first-half goal helped Loyola Chicago secure a 1-1 draw against La Salle on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium, extending the Ramblers' unbeaten streak to four matches.
How it Happened
After La Salle struck first in the 32nd minute on a finish by Julius de Vries, Loyola (4-3-6, 1-1-3 A-10) responded quickly when McFeely buried the equalizer in the 39th minute. The junior midfielder converted off a well-worked sequence from
Petar Janjic's head and Joaquin Rodriguez Ortiz's throw for his second goal of the season.
The Ramblers pressed for a winner in the second half, logging eight shots after halftime and earning nine corner kicks overall.
Nicholas Roe and
Arved von Vegesack each forced saves, while
Antonio Pinto and
Kike Morales Bilbao added to the offensive push.
Goalkeeper
Gabe Velasco turned in a strong performance with a career-high nine saves, keeping Loyola level through multiple second-half chances by the Explorers (1-4-7, 0-2-3 A-10).
