Volleyball Road Trip Opens at Davidson

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago opens a four-match road trip at Davidson this weekend. The Ramblers and Wildcats will play Friday and Saturday in Davidson, North Carolina. Loyola looks for its fourth straight win, while Davidson has dropped its last two.

Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

QUICK HITS
• Loyola is on a three-match win streak after beating Saint Louis in five and sweeping Duquesne last week. The Ramblers improved to 6-1 in A-10 play with their first back-to-back sweeps of the season.
•Loyola is in a four-way tie for second place in the A-10 standings heading into the weekend. George Mason, George Washington, and VCU are 6-1, while Dayton remains the only unbeaten team in first at 7-0.
• Avary DeBlieck was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week Monday after the 3-0 week. The middle blocker averaged 2.0 blocks per set after posting 18 over the three matches.
• Kaitlyn Burke led the Loyola offense in both matches vs. Duquesne. She had a match-high 12 kills in game one and a match-high 14 kills in game two.
• Burke was also one of three Ramblers with at least 10 kills at Saint Louis. She had a match-high 16, while Karli Molnau added 14 and Ann Marie Remmes 13.
• Emma Henry was Loyola's go-to setter over the three matches. She totaled 98 assists, averaging 8.91 assists per set. She had a season-best 37 at SLU. Henry is on a five-match streak with at least 20 assists recorded.
• Sam Falk returned from injury last week and extended her streak of double-figure digs. She's recorded at least 10 digs in every match available for this year, including a season-high 32 vs. SFA.
• Falk is in the national charts in aces, digs, and digs per set. She ranks 34th with 30 aces, 57th with 287 digs, and 76th with 4.22 digs per set.
• Joining her in the NCAA top-100 is DeBlieck. DeBlieck's 87 blocks ranks 23rd, while her 1.28 blocks per set ranks 53rd.
• The Ramblers 911 total assists sits 11th in the country, 980 kills ranks 12th, 175 blocks and 1,144 digs rank 16th.
• Head coach Amanda Berkley is in her eighth season at the helm. Her overall record with the Ramblers is 145-87.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Davidson is 7-10 overall and 2-5 in A-10 play heading into the weekend. The Wildcats look to snap a two-match skid on their home court. Davidson is 2-3 at home. Both those wins came in non-conference play vs. Elon and Delaware State. The league wins came against Rhode Island  to start October action.

The Wildcats lead the A-10 in attacks per set, averaging 36.5 swings. It ranks 37th in the country. They also lead the league in digs per set (15.16), ranking 68th in the NCAA.

Jordan Hummel is the team's leader in digs with 266, which is fourth in the A-10 and 89th in the NCAA. She has 15 matches this season with at least 10 digs, including a season-high 23 in the opener vs. Winthrop. Elena Garcia-Guerrios leads the Wildcats with 225 kills this season. She's tallied at least 10 in 13 matches, including a season-high 26 at App State.

Loyola leads the all-time series, 6-1. The teams split last season with the Ramblers winning the final meeting, 3-0.
