Ramblers Close Regular Season at Patriots

CHICAGO - The 2025 regular season comes to a close at George Mason this weekend. Loyola Chicago, George Mason, VCU, and George Washington are still in the hunt for second-place in the Atlantic 10 with all four tied at 10-6 heading into the final regular season matches. Both the Ramblers and Patriots look to build a four-match win streak into the tournament.

The matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

QUICK HITS
• Loyola went 2-1 last week at home, sweeping the series vs. Rhode Island and dropping a five-set thriller to Saint Louis.
• Avary DeBlieck earned the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts over the three matches. DeBlieck averaged 2.08 blocks per set and totaled 25. She had a season-high 12 blocks vs. SLU.
• DeBlieck has 142 total blocks this season and needs just three more to break the single-season record.
• Against the Billikens, Ann Marie Remmes recorded a career-high 20 kills while hitting .545. She stayed hot vs. Rhody tallying 14 kills (.458 hitting pct.) in match one, and 16 kills (.842 hitting pct.) in match two. She didn't commit a single error in the sweep vs. the Rams.
• Emma Henry registered back to back double-doubles vs. SLU and URI. Against the Billikens, she had a season-best 52 assists with 13 digs. Henry added 43 assists and 13 digs vs. the Rams.
• Henry also had a career-high five aces against Rhody in match one. All five came in a single run of serving that helped Loyola go up 11-4 in set two.
• Loyola ranks 14th in the nation in total blocks (259) and is led by DeBlieck's 142 total blocks, which ranks fourth individually in the NCAA. Remmes adds 96 blocks, which is ninth in the A-10. DeBlieck is also in the top-25 in blocks per set (1.39).
• The Ramblers also rank 11th in the country in total assists (1,316), 12th in kills (1,420), 14th in total attacks (3,960), and 18th in total digs (1,663).
• Loyola loss to SLU marked the 10th time the Ramblers have gone to five sets this season. Loyola has won half of those battles.
• Since joining the A-10, the Ramblers pulled off 36 sweeps in conference regular season action with just five this year. Loyola pulled off 10 in 2024, 13 in 2023, and eight in 2022.
• Head coach Amanda Berkley is in her eighth season at the helm. Her overall record with the Ramblers is 149-92.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
George Mason enters the weekend at 17-10 overall and tied with Loyola, George Washington, and VCU for second in the A-10 standings at 10-6. The Patriots won their last two matches and hold a 12-3 record on their home court.

George Mason is one of the top serving teams in the county, leading the A-10 and ranking 15th in the NCAA with 196 aces. The Patriots average 1.80 aces per set, which also leads the league and sits 32nd in the NCAA.

Autumn Martinez-Robinson has 64 aces and counting this season and is the nation's leader. She's averaging 0.59 aces per set, ranking eight in the nation. She has 22 matches with at least two aces and has been held to zero only twice this year.

SERIES HISTORY
Loyola leads the all-time series, 6-1. The lone loss was back in 1996, and the Ramblers have won the last six since joining the A-10. Loyola swept both matches last season.
