Home Stretch Continues vs. SLU

CHICAGO - The Ramblers and Billikens meet for the second time this season, continuing a five-match homestand for Loyola Chicago. First serve is set for 4 p.m. in Gentile Arena. SLU looks to even the series as Loyola claimed a 3-2 win last month.

QUICK HITS
• Loyola was swept in both matches vs. Dayton over the weekend, allowing the Flyers to stay undefeated in league play.
• Avary DeBlieck was a highlight for the Ramblers in match two despite the loss. She totaled 12 kills while hitting .846.
• Ann Marie Remmes also had success in the middle with eight kills.
• In the first match vs. Dayton, Kate Maley was the team leader with nine kills, while Leyna Nguyen and Karli Molnau added even each.
• Emma Henry led Loyola in assists in both matches. She tallied 15 in match one with 33 to follow in match two.
• Last weekend at VCU, the Ramblers swept the Rams in match one. Remmes was the lone Rambler in double-digit kills with 11, while Sam Falk recorded five aces and Jae Fitting four.
• In the loss to the Rams, Kaitlyn Burke led the Ramblers with 15 kills, while Remmes added 11, and Maley and DeBlieck had 10 each.
• Henry notched a double-double with  48 assists and 13 digs. She's had the starting nod at setter over the last 11 games and had 15 or more assists in each match since. Henry also has two more double-doubles in that stretch.
•Loyola's five-set loss at VCU marked the ninth time the Ramblers have gone to five sets this season. Loyola has won five of those matches. In the prior two seasons, Loyola only saw five sets a combined six times.
•DeBlieck ranks 12th in the country with 111 total blocks this season. She currently ranks sixth on the program's single-season records list. The middle blocker has 10 matches this season with five or more blocks, including a season-best 10 blocks at Davidson.
• Head coach Amanda Berkley is in her eighth season at the helm. Her overall record with the Ramblers is 147-91.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Saint Louis is 12-12 overall and 4-9 in A-10 play, heading into the mid-week match. The Billikens dropped their last two matches at Duquesne and face a 1-7 record on the road.

SLU is one of the better serving teams in the league. Their 136 aces on the year ranks fourth in the conference and 77th in the NCAA. The Billikens also do a good job on the defense, holding their opponents to a .190 hitting percentage, which ranks third in the A-10 and 88th in the country.

Freshman Ellie Rink continues to lead the Billikens with 282 kills this season with 120 of those coming in conference play. Rink's efforts paid off for three Rookie of the Week honors this season. She had 13 kills the last time Loyola and SLU played.

SERIES HISTORY
Loyola leads the all-time series 18-6 and has won the last eight match ups. The Ramblers battled for a five-set win back in October when they made the trip to Saint Louis earlier this season.
