PITTSBURGH – Loyola Chicago opened a two-game road trip with a 69-56 loss at Duquesne. The Dukes were able to capitalize on turnovers and on the fast break to steal the win.
Des Watson led all-scorers with 14 points.
With the loss, Loyola falls to 14-9 overall and 5-5 in Atlantic 10 play.
"Duquesne just had more juice and pop tonight," said head coach
Drew Valentine. "We had two poor days of practice. I just talked to the guys in the locker room and said we have to work for and earn everything we want. It's disappointing because we were coming off two solid wins and playing well, but if we keep perspective and get our mentality right, we will bounce back. I still love coaching these guys and believe in what they can do."
