SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Loyola men's golf got back on the course at the Babygrande Ross Collegiate this week. The Ramblers shot five-under-par in the final round to climb the leaderboards and finish 11^th of a 20-team field.
 
Loyola was +23 with a final score of 887 (307-297-283).
 
"It felt great to shoot one of the lower rounds of the day today. One of the staples of this team is never quitting on an event. I trust all these guys resilience and willingness to keep fighting to the very end," said head coach Erik Hoops. "Unfortunately, we put ourselves a little too far behind the eight ball getting started yesterday. In the fall, we locked into some stuff that got us off to a much better start and gave us opportunities to win multiple events during the season.
 
"We've really got to find that mindset again so we can have some opportunities these next few events to bring home some more hardware and give us a great chance at Evermore to bring home our first A-10 title. Excited to head to Arizona in a week to get a chance against a really strong field of players."
 
Charlie Kulwin led Loyola with a top-25 finish, coming in tied for 21^st. He finished with a score of 218 (77-72-69). He improved 12 spots with his three-under-par score in round three.
 
A pair of Ramblers were tied for 33^rd in the event. Ryan Walsh (79-70-72) and Sebastian Kasun (76-75-70) posted scores of 221. Walsh shot 79 in the first round before finishing two under and even in the final two rounds. Kasun was two under in the third.
 
Zach Mulhearn wasn't far behind with a score of 229 (75-82-72), while Dori Lee scored 237 (82-80-75).
 
Walsh led with 11 birdies, while Kasun and Mulhearn had 10 each.
 
The Ramblers return to play March 24-25 at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate in Arizona. The event is hosted by Minnesota.
