WALNUT, Calif. — Loyola University Chicago closed out a strong weekend of competition at the Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational with several personal bests and a new addition to the program's all-time top-five list.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, James Howell and Jack Slaughter represented the Ramblers in the men's 800-meter run. Howell placed sixth in his heat with a time of 1:54.77, while Slaughter followed in 12th at 1:55.61. In the 1,500 meters, Izak Bibile recorded a time of 3:54.72 to finish 11th in his heat.
Meanwhile, across town at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Alessandra Rodriguez delivered one of the night's top performances for Loyola, finishing seventh in her 1,500-meter heat with a personal-best time of 4:22.43. Her mark now ranks fourth in program history.
On the men's side of the 1,500 meters, Samuel Field turned in a standout effort, clocking a 3:42.20 to take fourth in his heat.
Wrapping up the weekend in the 5,000 meters, Woody Jerome and Miles Clisham both competed with strong results. Clisham placed fifth in his heat with a time of 14:20.28, while Jerome followed in 14:45.03.
The Ramblers return to action on Friday, April 25, at the Elmhurst Twilight Invite.
