CHICAGO — A trio of Ramblers have qualified for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field West Preliminary. Roisin Treacy (3K steeplechase), Samuel Field (1,500m), and Emma Watcke (5K) will head to College Station next week (May 28–31) in hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships in June.

To make the cut, all three rank inside the NCAA's top 48 for their respective events. To qualify for nationals, each athlete must place in the top 12 at the West Prelims.

Field will kick off Loyola Chicago's weekend at Texas A&M's E.B. Cushing Stadium on Wednesday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the 1,500m first round. The quarterfinal round is scheduled for Friday (May 30) at 5:15 p.m. Field, who heads to the NCAA Track and Field Championships for the first time, recently posted a personal-best 1,500m time of 3:41.82 at the Raleigh Relays — the fourth-fastest in program history — and placed eighth in the same event at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

On Saturday (May 31), Treacy will race in the 3K steeplechase quarterfinal at 5:40 p.m., followed by Watcke in the 5K semifinal at 8:10 p.m.

Treacy, who debuts at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, set a PR in the steeplechase at the 65th Annual Mt. SAC Relays this past April (10:14.36), which now stands as the fastest time in Loyola history. She also claimed first place in the event at the A-10 Championships in early May.

Watcke, who will be making our her third trip the NCAA Track and Field Championships, clocked her 5K PR at the Bryan Clay Invitational in April (15:57.60), the second-fastest time ever by a Rambler. She went on to win gold in the 5K at the conference championships.
