NEW ORLEANS — Loyola University Chicago's men's and women's track programs, along with three standout student-athletes, have earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors for the 2025 collegiate season, the organization announced.
Both the men's and women's teams were recognized for their outstanding collective academic performance, with the women's team boasting an impressive 3.67 cumulative GPA and the men's team close behind at 3.46.
In addition to the team accolades, three individual athletes were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes for excelling both on the track and in the classroom:
Roisin Treacy, a psychology major, qualified for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field West Preliminary Round, where she competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Emma Watcke, pursuing her master's in international affairs, also represented Loyola at the West Prelims, racing in the 5,000 meters.
James Lawrence, an MBA graduate student, posted one of the nation's top performances in the 10,000 meters this season, recording the 13th-fastest time in the country with a 27:54.62 at the Stanford Invitational.
The USTFCCCA recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their excellence in both academics and athletics. To be eligible for All-Academic honors, individuals must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
For indoor track and field, athletes must have finished the season ranked among the top 96 nationally in an individual championship event or in the top 48 in a relay event.
For outdoor track and field, student-athletes must have either competed in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships or ranked among the top 48 in their respective region (East or West).
