Ramblers End Season at A-10 Tournament

WASHINGTON – Loyola Chicago fell in two straight games at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Tournament Wednesday afternoon. Fordham came away with an 8-1 win, while Saint Joseph's rallied for a 4-3 win.

The Ramblers end their season at 19-34 overall.

Game One: Fordham 8, Loyola 1
The game got off to a slow start before Loyola put the pressure on in inning two. The Ramblers gained an early base runner after a Nat Lesnicki lead-off walk. Sierra Sass advanced her with a sac bunt to put her in scoring position. Alli Pawlowicz stepped up later on and forced an error on the second basemen. Lesnicki saw a chance to take home and was safe following an interference, and Loyola got ahead 1-0.

The lead held until the fourth when the Rams plated two runs for a lead. Hoppe loaded the bases with a single down the left field line, which allowed Mcclellan's walk to bring Sullivan home for the winning run.

Fordham used another five hits in the bottom of the fifth to score six more runs, taking an 8-1 edge. Averi Vander Woude looked to spark a seventh-inning rally with a lead-off walk, but the Rams turned a double play to squash the momentum and advance in the winners' bracket with the 8-1 win.

Inside the Box Score
  • Bella Crimaldi and Pawlowicz tallied Loyola's two hits.
  • Crimaldi had the lone multi-base hit of the game with a double.
  • Peyton Pepkowski got the start and struck out four.
  • Andie Broniewicz tossed the final two innings and struck out one.

Game Two: Saint Joseph's 4, Loyola 3
Both teams tallied a hit in the first inning, but it wasn't until the third that Loyola struck first on the scoreboard. Pawlowicz led off with a triple to center field and she beat a throw home on a fielder's choice to claim an early 1-0 lead.

The Hawks had an answer in the bottom frame, plating their first two runners with a single and walk. Malito doubled on the next at bat to plate them both and take a 2-1 edge.

Loyola tallied a couple more hits before the top of the sixth when the Ramblers regained the lead. Skyler Croker got on base due to an error and would tie the game 2-2 after scoring on an Abby Johnson double. Riley Owens brought Johnson home for a one-run lead on a single.

The Hawks answered quick with two runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth. Saint Joseph's followed up with three straight outs in the top of the seventh to steal the win, 4-3.
