Loyola, Green Bay To Play Exhibition Saturday

CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago women's volleyball is primed and ready for its lone exhibition match Aug. 16. The Ramblers will take on Green Bay in Gentile Arena at noon. Admission is free and the match will not be streamed.

QUICK HITS
  • The Ramblers are coming off their most historic season yet after capturing their first ever NCAA Tournament win and second Atlantic 10 title.
  • Loyola earned the Atlantic 10's automatic bid after sweeping No. 18 Dayton for the championship. The loss was Dayton's second of the season, first by an A-10 opponent, and first on its home court. The Flyers hadn't lost to an A-10 team since the Ramblers won the 2022 championship, 3-1. It was also the first time Dayton has been swept since Sept. 30, 2022.
  • Loyola's momentum carried on to the first round where the Ramblers swept No. 24 BYU to advance to the second round for the first time in program history. Bree Borum posted her third straight double-double to help lead Loyola to the second round.
  • The Ramblers ultimately fell to Purdue, ending their season at 22-12.
  • Loyola returns three starters and 11 letterwinners, while adding four new faces.
  • Ann Marie Remmes is back in the middle for the Ramblers, gearing up for her senior season. She had the third most kills last season with 251 and had a team-high 107 blocks.
  • Sam Falk was steady in the libero position by the second half of the season, averaging 2.68 digs/set. She had at least 10 digs in 10 of the last 13 matches.
  • Avary DeBlieck returns to the court after logging action in 107 sets last year. She totaled 168 kills and 97 blocks. She recorded at least five blocks in seven matches.
  • Joining the Ramblers this year are freshmen Karlie Molnau, Ava Hunter, and Leyna Nguyen. Loyola also added a grad transfer in Josie Halbleib.
  • Halbleib started her career with a redshirt at Kansas State before playing three seasons at Missouri State. She totaled 341 assists, 76 kills, 68 digs, and 36 blocks for the Bears.
  • Amanda Berkley enters her eighth season at the helm. She holds a 136-77 record with the Ramblers.

UP NEXT
Loyola will open the 2025 campaign at the WKU Invitational on Aug. 29-30. The Ramblers will play Drake, WKU, and Wright State.
