CHICAGO, Ill. -- In front of 1,005 fans for the program's annual Hustle to Hoyne match, Loyola Chicago and Purdue Fort Wayne played to a 0-0 draw Sunday (Aug. 24) at Loyola Soccer Park.
Loyola Chicago moved to 1-0-1 overall with the draw.
"First and foremost, I can't thank our fans enough for coming out to Hustle to Hoyne," said Loyola Chicago Head Coach Steve Bode. "The crowd was incredible, and their support means everything to us. We want to keep seeing them out here.
As for the match, it's one of those draws that almost feels like a loss. We outshot them 17–2 and created plenty of chances, but sometimes the ball just doesn't go in. I have full confidence we'll start finishing those opportunities. Credit to our opponent—they're undefeated for a reason and made it difficult for us, especially in the second half."
