Coach Quotes: Jon Sandoval
"The first conference win is always the hardest. It's just like the season opener; it's very chaotic, there's a lot of transitions and it's very physical. There's a lot of emotion involved in the first one and I thought we did a really good job handling that emotion, we continued to battle, we need to execute a bit more towards the end. There are some things that we know we need to improve on, so it's still making sure that the highs don't get too high because we have very difficult road trip coming up."

"Scoring is the hardest thing to do in soccer; it's very difficult. That's something we're going to continue to work on, and we're going to continue to get better. We would have liked to have gotten another one or two at the end there, but I think those are moments that we're going to learn and we're going to develop on the training ground."

How it Happened

  • Hevey scored the decisive goal in the 22nd minute off an assist from Jadyn Harris; it was Hevey's third goal overall this season and Harris' first assist.
