Women's Volleyball Adds Seven Student-Athletes

Four transfers join this spring, three freshmen in the fall

CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago women's volleyball added four transfers in December and announced three signees on National Signing Day back in November. They join the 10 returning Ramblers from the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship squad.
 
"We're extremely excited to have this group join us in the gym and on the court for the upcoming season," said head coach Amanda Berkley. "The transfers will bring a competitive edge and help level us up, while the freshmen class are proven winners from their high school careers."
 
Mya Ball | S | Redshirt Sophomore | Angola, Ind. | Central Florida
Ball is a redshirt sophomore transfer out of Central Florida. She logged time in 10 matches during her freshman campaign. Ball finished her rookie season with over 100 assists, including a career-high 25 vs. Colorado. Ball was a four-year letterwinner our of Angola where she was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-state, all-district- and all-area selection. Ball set the single season record in aces (127) and ranks second all-time in career blocks (190).
 
Berkley on Ball: "Mya is a physical setter who has experience playing at a high level. She is a leader and competitor who brings in a variety of skill sets that will help our program grow upon her arrival in Rogers Park. We are excited to add someone of Mya's caliber to our setting crew!"
 
Mallory Bohl | MB | Junior | Saline, Mich | Notre Dame
Bohl is a junior transfer out of Notre Dame where she played the last two seasons. In 2025, Bohl made five appearances for the Fighting Irish, totaling 10 kills and six blocks. She finished her rookie season with 46 kills and 36 blocks. Bohl is a four-year letter winner out of Saline where she earned all-conference first team honors in 2023.
 
Berkley on Bohl: "Mallory is a physical presence at the net and will be a great addition to our group of middle blockers. She's extremely competitive and will make the most of the opportunities she has. We can't wait to have her on campus!"
 
Morgan Jones | OH | Redshirt Sophomore | Crystal Lake, Ill. | Missouri
Jones spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons at Missouri taking a redshirt before transferring. She's a four-year letterwinner out of Huntley where she earned all-conference and all-area first team honors in her final two seasons of high school competition. In Illinois, Jones was ranked fifth in the class of 2024 and was on Prep Volleyball's Top-100 players list.
 
Berkley on Jones: "We are pumped to add Morgan to our team!  She has an incredible athleticism and dynamic skill set. She will be a fun player to watch, and we can't wait to see the difference she makes in the gym."
 
Katie Scherer | RS | Sophomore | St. Charles, Ill. | Maryland
Scherer got her start at Maryland where she played her first two seasons. In 2025, Scherer played in 13 matches and 24 sets. She totaled 33 kills, 11 digs, and 10 blocks as a sophomore. She made 17 appearances in her freshman campaign, tallying 91 kills, one assist, 45 digs, and 21 blocks. Before her collegiate career, Scherer was a three-year letter winner out of St. Charles North. She earned all-conference, all-area, and all-state honors during her career.
 
Berkley on Scherer: "We are excited to add Katie to our team as she brings in an intimidating block and a great arm that can kill the ball.  Katie's personality will fit in well with this team. We can't wait to see the impact she will have in the gym and the ways she will help push our program forward!"
 
Tenley Davis | OH/RS | Freshman | Chesterton, Ind. | Chesterton Senior
Davis is a four-year letterwinner out of Chesterton Senior. As a senior, Davis was tabbed team captain and broke the school's career kills record. She was named to the AVCA All-American Watch List. Davis brought home the honors as a sophomore, earning MVP, all-district, all-area, and all-conference honors. In her junior season, Davis was named Offensive Player of the year after surpassing the 1,000 kill mark. She also earned all-district, all-area, and all-conference honors. She was a member of the National Honors Society and played club for First Alliance VBC for Meghan Keck.
 
Berkley on Davis: "Tenley is a fiery player who brings the competitiveness and energy every time she plays. We are excited to get a pin player who is versatile and willing to do whatever is best for the team.  We can't wait for Tenley to join the Rambler Family!"
 
Camryn Hughes | MB | Freshman | Chicago, Ill. | Kenwood
Hughes is a four-year letterwinner out of Kenwood. She helped lead the squad to a Red South Conference Championship. Hughes was a two-time MVP (2024, 2025), and two-year captain (2025, 2026), and a three-time player of the match. Hughes was named to the 2022-23 Principle's list for her efforts in the classroom. She also played for Chi City under Dominique McCall.
 
Berkley on Hughes: "We can't wait to have Camryn join our Rambler family in the fall. She brings a joyful intensity to the court and will be a fun personality to have on the team.  She is competitive, driven, and a great blocker. Excited to add Camryn to our middle blocking crew!"
 
Anna Jirmasek | L/DS | Freshman | Independence, Ohio | Independence
Jirmasek is a four-year letterwinner out of Independence. She earned 2024 all-conference and all-district honors and was also named a conference all-star. Jirmasek set the school's single-season (104) and career record (289) in aces. She also lettered in track and field as a freshman and qualified for state. Jirmasek played for Academy Volleyball Cleveland club squad under Dan And Ella Mihacevich. She's a four-year honor roll member, part for the National Honors Society, has four academic letters, and a four-time scholar athlete.
 
Berkley on Jirmasek: "We are excited for Anna to be a Rambler. She is a steady competitive defensive player who leads vocally and by example. Anna will help bring in more depth to our DS/L crew, and we can't wait to have her in Chicago next Fall."
