Loyola Set For Home Game Against Duquesne

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago returns to Gentile Arena this weekend after playing its last two games on the road. Loyola and Duquesne tip-off at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Ramblers look to snap a six-game skid, while the Dukes have dropped three of the last four. Both look to rally in the league standings. 

Tuesday's game will be on Marquee Sports Network with Jordan Bernfield (PXP) and Nick DiNardi (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Senior Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
Joshua Ola-Joseph posted his second 20-point outing at St. Bonaventure earlier this week, matching his season-high 20 points on 6-12 from the field. He hit five threes and added three rebounds.
Nic Anderson scored 15 against the Bonnies, marking his fourth double-figure performance over the last five games. He also tallied six rebounds and three assists.
Deywilk Tavarez wrapped up double-digit efforts with 10 points, while Miles Rubin grabbed a team-leading 12 rebounds. Rubin added four assists, two steals, and four blocks.
Caleb Reese did a bit of everything over his career-high 34 minutes played. Reese totaled four points, five rebounds, and six assists for the Ramblers.
• Rubin and Ola-Joseph are averaging at least 10 ppg over the first seven games of league action. Rubin is scoring 11.0 ppg after having at least 10 points in five of the games. Ola-Joseph is averaging 10.3 ppg after having at least 10 in three of the last four games. 
• Rubin leads Loyola with 142 rebounds this season, which ranks fourth in the A-10. His 7.1 rpg average and 4.90 defensive rpg average also rank fourth.
• Rubin's block total is up to 51, ranking sixth in the country and first in the A-10. His blocks per game average (2.51) ranks 11th in the nation and first in the A-10. Rubin has recorded two or more blocks in 16 of Loyola's 20 games, including the last seven consecutive contests.
• Rubin holds both the top two spots on the single-season records list. He broke the single-season record as a freshman with 76 blocks and surpassed it again as a sophomore with 85. He needs 67 blocks this year to claim third on the list.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled an 88-65 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING DUQUESNE
The Dukes enter Saturday at 10-9 overall and 2-4 in A-10 play. They face a 2-4 road record heading into Gentile. Duquesne is one of the top scoring teams in the league, ranking fourth with 84.1 points per game. Its the 52nd best offense in the country. The team averages 17.1 assists per game, which is second best int he A-10 and 44th in the NCAA.

Tarence Guinyard leads the Dukes with 16.1 points and 5.3 assists per game. His 101 total assists this season leads the A-10, and he ranks sixth in scoring. He has 15 games with 10 or more points this season, including a career-high 30 against Villanova back on Nov. 15. He had three straight 20-point games to open A-10 play vs. Davidson, VCU, and Saint Joseph's. Guinyard has recorded at least three assists in all but one game this year. 

Dru Joyce III is in his second season leading the Dukes. He has a 23-28 overall record.

SERIES HISTORY
Duquesne leads the all-time series, 13-7. The Dukes won last season's meeting, 69-56. Rubin had 10 points in the loss.
