PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Loyola Chicago only needed three sets to defeat Duquesne on Saturday, Oct. 10 in Pittsburgh. The Ramblers are on a roll, winning their last six matches -- five of which were sweeps -- and improved to 9-8 overall and 6-1 in Atlantic 10 play.
Junior Katie Scherer was on fire, leading Loyola with 13 kills while hitting .579, and added three blocks. At the service line, sophomore setter Mya Ball supplemented the offense with five aces, matching her season high, and junior libero Sam Falk recorded nine digs.
Coach Quote: Amanda Berkley
"Our serving today was exceptional, which gave us a big lead at times and we were able to afford some of their point runs. Our right sides, Kate [Maley] and Katie [Scherer] had great offensive days for us. I'm proud of the team for finishing out the weekend 2-0 against a really tough Duquesne team."
