WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Loyola Chicago's Avary DeBlieck was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, per the league's announcement on Monday afternoon. The honor comes on the heals of the Ramblers' five-set victory at Dayton this past weekend.

DeBlieck, a senior middle blocker, helped lead the Ramblers in back-to-back five-set matches on the Flyers' home court, totaling 17 blocks in the weekend. In the win on Saturday, Oct. 24, she recorded a season-best 10 blocks and had 10 kills on .588 hitting for her first double-double of the year. The Algonquin, Ill., native ranks third in the A10 in blocks/set (1.19) and is ninth in hitting percentage (.285).

It marks the fourth overall weekly award for Loyola this season and fourth of DeBlieck's career.
