LEADING OFF
Loyola Chicago and Saint Louis meet for the second time this season on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. The Ramblers are 11-10 overall and 8-3 in Atlantic 10 play.

QUICK HITS

  • Loyola split its series with Dayton on the road last weekend, falling in the first match after sets before bouncing back to win the second match after another five sets. It marked the Ramblers' first regular-season victory over the Flyers since 2022.
  • Senior middle Avary DeBlieck earned A10 Defensive Player of the Week after racking up 17 total blocks against the Flyers, highlighted by a season-high 10 blocks and a .588 hitting clip with 10 kills -- her first double-double of the season -- in the victory (Oct. 24).
  • Sophomore outside hitter Leyna Nguyen led Loyola's offense with back-to-back double-doubles, recording 21 kills and 10 digs in match one (Oct. 23) and 13 kills and 11 digs in the win.
  • Six Ramblers rank in the A10's top statistical leaders: Mya Ball second in service aces/set (.49) and eighth in assists/set (7.41), DeBlieck third in blocks/set (1.19) and ninth in hitting percentage (.285), Nguyen fourth in kills/set (3.55) and in points/set (4.02), Sam Falk third in digs/set (3.56) and 10th in service aces/set (.30), Chloe Morgan eighth in blocks/set (1.06) and Mallory Bohl 10th in hitting percentage (.278).
  • Head coach Amanada Berkley entered her ninth season at the helm of the program, holding a 164-103 (.614) record.
  • Loyola, the reigning conference champion, was picked to finish second in the A10 Preseason Poll, receiving two first place votes.
  • The Ramblers and Gentile Arena will serve as the host site for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship from Friday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 22.

SCOUTING REPORT
Saint Louis is 12-10 overall and 7-4 in A10 play so far in 2026. The Billikens are on a five-match win streak heading into the match, kickstarted by a 3-1 win over Dayton and coming off back-to-back five-set victories against George Mason.

Sophomore outside hitter Tamia Maddox totaled 44 kills in the weekend, recording back-to-back matches with at least 20 kills and earning herself A10 Player of the Week. She is third on the team in kills/set (2.38) and tied for third in service aces (13). Her sophomore counterpart Ellie Rink paces the team behind 3.38 kills/set, good for sixth in the league. Leading the A10 in blocks is junior middle Kayla Jansen with 1.34/set, placing her 33rd in the country.

The Billikens were picked to finish eighth in the A10 Preseason Poll after a 5-13 conference record in 2025.

SERIES HISTORY
Loyola leads the all-time series 20-7 with SLU, dating back to 2006. The Ramblers have won nine of their last 10 matches, including most recently inside Gentile Arena (Sept. 29), where the Billikens fell in straight sets.
