PHILADELPHIA – Loyola Chicago's season came to an end Friday night in the Atlantic 10 women's soccer quarterfinal. La Salle scored in the 65
th minute to secure a 1-0 win and advance.
With the loss, Loyola caps its season at 7-4-8 overall.
How It Happened
It was a slow start to Friday's match with only two shots coming in the first 25 minutes of play. La Salle had a close attempt off the top woodwork in the eighth minute, while Loyola's first shot wasn't registered until the 29
th.
Allison Deardorff tallied two saves in the final 10 minutes of the half to keep things even at the break, 0-0.
Emily Roberts put a shot on goal for the Ramblers in the 58
th minute, but it was saved by the Explorers. The next shot on goal attempt found the back of the net for La Salle. Rylee Hensen put the game winner away in the 65
th.
Mary Fornelli had Loyola's final shot of the match with three minutes to go, but she was off target to the right, and La Salle held on for the 1-0 win.
