GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Loyola Chicago had an 18-point performance from the bench, but fell short, 82-48, to Green Bay in the Ramblers' (1-1, 0-0 A10) first road contest of the season on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Sophomore guard Mireia Jurado led the Ramblers with 10 points, and junior Gabby Wilke tacked on nine points off the bench, while sophomore Angela Le Faou helped out with six points. The Ramblers out-rebounded the Phoenix 33-29, led by Jurado's five boards. Loyola also grabbed 10 offensive rebounds and scored five second chance points.
"Tonight was a tough game against a Sweet 16 level opponent. We showed glimpses of competitive effort and what we can be when we execute the game plan," said head coach Morgan Paige. "MJ [Jurado] continues to be a consistent offensive presence for us as she stays aggressive on each catch and finds way to impact the game. Gemma [Wichmann] is a spark off the bench with the extra effort to rebound outside of her area, and she will continue to grow as she gains college experience."
