CHICAGO – The Loyola University Chicago track teams are gearing up for the 2026 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships this weekend (Feb. 27-28) at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
Loyola Chicago looks to put an exclamation point on an indoor campaign that has produced a wave of personal bests and rewritten sections of the program record book. Most recently at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational,
Jake Phillips paced the Ramblers with a personal-best 13:41.93 in the 5,000 meters, finishing sixth in his heat. The mark ranks third all-time in school history.
In all, Loyola recorded 11 personal records across competition in Boston and at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic, continuing the momentum heading into the championship stretch.
Last season at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships,
James Lawrence won two titles to lead Loyola. Lawrence claimed the 5,000 meters (14:07.52) on Friday, then set a meet record in the 3,000 meters (8:03.53) on Saturday to earn Most Outstanding Track Performer honors.
The Ramblers added five other top-five finishes, including runner-up efforts from
Emma Watcke (mile) and
Roisin Treacy (3,000 meters). Loyola's men finished eighth of 13 teams, while the women placed 13th of 15.
