BOSTON – Loyola Chicago closed out competition at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday with a strong showing in the mile, 5K and 3K to wrap up the final day of racing.
Leah Klapatauskas highlighted the day for the Ramblers, winning her mile heat in 4:52.36. The time marked a five-second personal best and one of Loyola's top performances of the meet.
In the 5K, Angy Salado Fernandez led the Rambler women with an eighth-place finish in her heat, crossing in 16:55.93. Eileen Seebon followed in 16:57.91 to place 19th in her section, while Ali Gillooly finished 14th in her heat in 17:32.14.
Loyola also competed in the 3K to close the meet. Roisin Treacy ran 9:27.78 to place 22nd in her heat, while Sammy Mason clocked 9:55.64 for 15th in her section. Pippa Carcas rounded out the Rambler performances with a 14th-place finish in her heat in 9:56.84.
