Ramblers Ready for Davidson Rematch

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago returns the trip to Davidson to wrap up this week's action. The Ramblers and Wildcats tip-off at 5 p.m. CT Friday. Loyola looks to build off its win vs. La Salle, while the Wildcats need to bounce back following a loss to Saint Louis.

Friday's game will be on CBS Sports Network with Chris Lewis (PXP) and John Henson (Analyst) and can be listened to Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Senior Analyst).

RAMBLINGS
• Loyola snapped a nine-game losing streak vs. La Salle at home earlier this week, 71-61. All nine Ramblers scored, while four of them hit double-figures.
• Joshua Ola-Joseph led with 16 points on 5-8 from the field and 5-7 at the line. Justin Moore added 12, Kayde Dotson had 11, and Xavier Amos scored 10.
• Miles Rubin extended his double-figure rebounding streak to five games with 11 rebounds vs. La Salle. He also had a team-leading five assists and two blocks.
• Rubin is having his best season average wise with 10.8 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.0 apg, 0.8 spg, and 2.3 bpg.
• Rubin is currently 10th in the nation with 55 blocks this season, while his 2.3 average falls 18th on the national leaderboards.
• With 56 blocks and counting, Rubin needs 11 more to take over third on the single-season charts and 30 to break the record he set last season (85).
•The junior center is also in the NCAA's top-100 in rebounding. His 7.6 rpg average ranks 98th, while his 182 total rebounds ranks 52nd. Rubin is averaging 5.29 offensive boards per game, ranking 99th.
• Deywilk Tavarez scored 12 points against Saint Joseph's last week, surpassing the 1,000th career point mark after his first basket of the game. Tavarez has 216 points and counting for the Ramblers. 
• January's action wrapped up with Rubin, Amos, Ola-Joseph, and Nic Anderson averaging at least 10 points per game each. Rubin neared a double-double over the nine games, leading Loyola with 11.1 ppg and 9.1 rpg.
• Amos averaged 11.0 over five appearances. Ola-Joseph and Anderson averaged 10.7 and 10.1 ppg, respectively.
• During this stretch, Ola-Joseph has two 20-point outings. He went 7-14 with four threes at George Washington to record a season-high 20 points. He had 20 again at St. Bonaventure on 6-12 from the field with five threes.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled an 89-69 overall record as head coach.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON
Davidson is 13-9 overall and 5-5 in A-10 play after falling to Saint Louis earlier this week. The Wildcats are one of the better three-point shooting teams in the A-10. They rank third in three-point percentage (.369) and fifth in three-pointers per game (9.0). 

Roberts Blums is Davidson's top scorer, averaging 11.5 points per game. He also leads the Wildcats in three-point percentage as he makes 41.9 percent of his attempts. He has 13 double-figure scoring games this season, including two 20-point games. He scored a season-high 23 points at Richmond last month.

Head coach Matt McKillop is in his fourth season leading Davidson and holds a 61-58 record.

SERIES HISTORY
Loyola leads the all-time series, 4-3. Kymany Houinsou and Nic Anderson had 13 points each, while Alexander Richardson scored 10 earlier this season vs. the Wildcats.
