Box Score 2 SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Loyola Chicago went 0-2 on day two of the SDSU Season Kickoff to Minnesota and Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 7. The Gophers shut out the Ramblers in game one before the Wildcats pitched a perfect game against the Maroon and Gold.
Game One: Loyola 0, Minnesota 8
Minnesota shut out Loyola in five innings in game one. Rookie pitcher Katie Geydoshek only allowed two hits in the first three scoreless innings and struck out three Gophers. The Big Ten team came in swinging in the top of the fourth frame, scoring five runs against the Ramblers. After a Loyola pitching switch, Minnesota added three more scores to finish the game in five.
Game Two: Loyola 0, Kentucky 7
Game two ended in another shutout against the Ramblers as the Wildcats put up seven runs in the afternoon closer. Kentucky opened the game with a 2-0 lead before transfer Brooke Steinhorst pitched four scoreless innings. The Wildcats added one more run in the sixth before adding four more in the seventh.
