WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Freshman pitcher Katie Geydoshek of Loyola Chicago was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, announced by the league's office on Tuesday morning. 

Hailing from Green Bay, Wis., Geydoshek struck out a career-high 13 batters in 8.2 innings of work with a 0.81 ERA to help push Loyola past Dayton, 3-2, in game one of the series (March 8). The right-handed rookie gave up just one run on three hits and walked none in her third win of the season. 

The weekly honor marks the first of the season for the Ramblers.
