Ramblers Shutout Flyers 9-0

DAYTON, Ohio -- Freshman pitcher Anna Kiel was dealing in game three at Dayton, throwing a three-hit shutout to lead Loyola past their conference foe in a 9-0 rule-rule victory. Kiel (5-2) went the distance for the Ramblers, giving up three hits, walking none and striking out four. The Ramblers improved to 11-13 overall and 3-0 in Atlantic 10 play.

Coach Quote: Alicia Abbott
"Our biggest improvement since opening the season is experience and learning through failure. That's the point of pre-season, to help you prepare for conference season. We weren't perfect this weekend, but we figured out how to score runs and keep them off balance. Anna [Kiel] did a great job attacking early in the count offensively and staying strong late in counts on batters. Our defense was solid behind her, and Nat [Lesnicki] had a huge weekend at the plate."

How It Happened
The Ramblers took the lead for good in the first and never looked back. Kiel opened the scoring with a two-run double, plating Nat Lesnicki and Megan Piotrowski. The Ramblers tacked on six runs in the second inning, highlighted by another two-run double from Kiel and a two-run single off the bat of Nat Lesnicki
