RAMBLINGS
• Loyola held on to win against Richmond at home over the weekend, 69-66.
Miles Rubin led Loyola with 19 points on 7-10 from the field. He was 5-7 at the line. Rubin also tallied five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.
• He was the lone Rambler in double-figures, but
Joshua Ola-Joseph had nine points off the bench, while
Nic Anderson added eight. Both had four boards and one assist. Anderson also tallied a career-high two blocks.
•
Xavier Amos scored eight, and
Kayde Dotson and
Daniil Glazkov had seven each. Dotson and Glazkov led Loyola with three assists each.
• Loyola out-rebounded Richmond 38-25 for one of its most dominant games on the boards this year. Every Rambler that played recorded at least two rebounds each.
Alexander Richardson grabbed a team-best six rebounds, while Glazkov had five. Two of his five were on the offensive glass.
• Rubin is approaching a couple of milestones. With one more game played, he will have appeared in 100 games as a Rambler. He also needs two more blocks to move up to third on the single-season charts. He will hold the top three spots when this happens after breaking the single-season record in back-to-back seasons.
• Rubin's 65 blocks this season sits second in the A-10 and 15th in the country. He's averaging 2.24 blocks per game, which is also second in the league and 17th in the NCAA. He's recorded at least one in the last seven games and only has two games without a block recorded this year.
• Head coach
Drew Valentine is in his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled an 90-73 overall record as head coach.
SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS
The Billikens enter the week ranked 25th in the AP poll and hold a 26-3 overall record. Saint Louis is 14-2 in A-10 play after splitting last week's play. The Billikens fell to Dayton on the road before besting Duquesne on Saturday. Saint Louis holds a perfect 18-0 record on their home court this season.
Trey Green is helping the Billikens to the nation's best three-point percentage (.409), while shooting the country's fourth best percentage (.461) by an individual. He is averaging 2.96 makes per game. Robbie Avila continues to lead Saint Louis in scoring, averaging 13.0 points per game. He's on a four-game streak with at least 10 points scored.
Head coach Josh Schertz is in his second season at the helm with a 45-18 record with the Billikens.
