HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Loyola Chicago put together a .469 hitting percentage on the way to a 3-0 victory (25-9, 25-12, 25-20) over Northern Kentucky Saturday, March 21.The Ramblers improved to 14-6 overall and 8-3 in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) action.
Junior outside Daniel Fabikovic finished with 10 kills on .563 hitting to lead the offense and senior libero JJ Sowa had five digs to lead defenese.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Ramblers won the first point and never trailed, taking the opening set 25-9. Loyola opened up its biggest lead, 16 points, to close out the set. Grad student Josh Schellinger supplemented the Ramblers' offense with two aces in the set.
SET 2 | Loyola won set two 25-12 to take a quick 2-0 lead. The Ramblers once again won the first point and never looked back. The team hit .588 over the course of the set as five Ramblers hit above .500 in the frame.
SET 3 | Loyola closed out the match with a 25-20 third set victory, registering a .333 attack percentage and 12 kills. Fabikovic clinched the match with his 10th kill of the day.
