CHICAGO -- Loyola Chicago fell 7-0 to No. 16/17 Washington on Tuesday, March 24 at Loyola Softball Park. Junior pitcher Brooke Steinhorst (2-6) got the ball to start and took the loss for the Ramblers, who are 12-17 overall after the loss. In the batter's box, junior infielder Liz Sedakis paced Loyola, going 2-for-3 with a double.

Coach Quote: Alicia Abbott
"Our defense played much sharper today compared to last weekend. Brooke [Steinhorst] was awesome through the first five innings and Anna [Kiel] provided some bright spots as well. Liz [Sedakis] had a great showing at the plate, and I'm proud of the way we competed against this top-25 team today."

How It Happened

Washington got the scoring started in the fifth with a homerun then tacked on five more in the next frame after a grand slam and another homer. Loyola managed zero chances in the shutout, going 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
