Finney Signs Pro Contract with Maitland Mustangs

MAITLAND, Australia – Former Rambler women's basketball student-athlete Jess Finney has signed a professional contract with the Maitland Mustangs, the club announced.

During the 2024-25 season, Finney recorded at least one block in seven games and reached double figures in 11 contests, including six of Loyola's first eight. She totaled 17 rebounds during a four-game win streak against Western Michigan, Chicago State, Evansville and St. Bonaventure, while surpassing 200 points in a season for the first time in her career.

"We are thrilled to have Jess join the Mustangs for 2026," head coach Will Granger said. "She brings an elite skill set to our club, including the ability to score and impact the game at multiple positions. We have no doubt she will have a stellar season in the Year of the Horse."

The Mustangs compete in the NBL1 East Conference of Australia's NBL1 league.

Finney becomes the seventh Rambler to sign a professional contract under head coach Allison Guth and the 11th since 2010. She joins a distinguished group of Loyola alumnae to play professionally, including Sitori Tanin, Thoranna Kika Hodge-Carr, Naelle Bernard, Sam Galanopoulos, Emma Nolan, Sophia Nolan, Troy Hambric, Taylor Manuel, Bre Hampton-Bey and Allison Day.
