Loyola Chicago Goes 0-3 in Opening Weekend

Ramblers drop 4-set match to Yellow Jackets.

AMES, Iowa -- Loyola Chicago went 0-3 in its season-opening weekend after a 3-1 loss to Georgia Tech on Sunday, Aug. 30. Sophomore Leyna Nguyen finished with 13 kills on .333 hitting to lead the Ramblers attack and senior Avary DeBlieck led defensively with seven blocks.

Coach Quote: Amanda Berkley
"I'm proud of our teams' response in the second set today against a very good Georgia Tech team. We had some really good performances from Leyna [Nguyen] and Claire [Van Den Herik] scoring at the edges of the block and going after it with their swings. We need to work on defense and blocking before next weekend and just being able to terminate on one on one situations."
