WASHINGTON D.C. -- Loyola Chicago's
Allison Dougherty and
Jake Phillips were named the Atlantic 10 Performers of the Week, per the league's announcement on Wednesday afternoon. It marks the first weekly A10 honor in both of their careers, and the first two for the Ramblers this season.
Phillips, a senior out of Palos Heights, Ill., was Loyola's top finisher at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational (Sept. 25), helping the team place 10th overall while placing 18th individually with a personal course best of 23:12.8 in the 8K. On the women's side, graduate student Dougherty led the Ramblers in the 6K, running a time of 20:25.77.
Both Ramblers ready with the rest of the team for the Bradley Pink Classic/Pre Nationals on Friday, Oct. 16 in Peoria, Ill.
