Jevon Mamon enters his second season as the director of men’s basketball operations at Loyola University Chicago.

In his first season on the Ramblers staff last year, Mamon helped Loyola to one of the most historic years in program history. In addition to capturing a school-record 32 wins, Loyola won the Missouri Valley Conference’s regular season and tournament titles and made the team’s first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 1985. The Ramblers rolled through March, reaching the Final Four for the first time in 55 years and closed out the season ranked No. 7 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

“Jevon is a long-time Chicago guy who has head coaching experience and has worked in many different areas," Loyola head coach Porter Moser said. "We have had success in bringing rising stars into our program and Jevon is another individual who has a bright future. He has forged great relationships all over the city and is going to bring a lot of value to our staff.”

Prior to his arrival at Loyola, Mamon served as the head varsity coach at Hyde Park Academy in Chicago in 2016-17. Prior to that, he spent two seasons as the head coach at Richards High School, where he piloted the varsity team to a South Suburban Conference Red Division championship in 2015-16.

Mamon’s first head coaching job at the high school level came at Perspectives Academy in Chicago, where he also served as dean of students. While at Perspectives, he guided the program to an IHSA Class 3A regional championship and sectional finalist appearance in 2012-13 and was named Illinois Basketball Coaches Association District 2 Coach of the Year in 2013.

A former student-athlete at Barat College, where he was a captain on the men’s basketball team, Mamon earned his master’s degree from North Park University.
