London Dokubo will enter his third season as Loyola’s director of men’s basketball operations in 2021-22 after serving as the Ramblers’ video coordinator in 2018-19. The Schaumburg, Ill., native played at Loyola from 2011-15, appearing in 102 games in his career. In 2015, Dokubo helped the Ramblers to a 24-win season and a College Basketball Invitational title in the program’s first postseason appearance since 1985.
In one capacity or another, Dokubo has been a part of a Loyola staff that has steered the Ramblers to 117 wins over the last five seasons, finishing no lower than second place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings in each of the last three years, while claiming three Valley regular-season titles.
The Ramblers had another remarkable season in 2020-21, winning their third MVC regular-season title in the last four years, establishing a school record with 16 conference wins, making a trip to the NCAA Sweet 16 and finishing the year ranked No. 12 in the final Ferris Mowers Coaches Top 25 Poll. Loyola also boasted The Valley’s Player of the Year (Cameron Krutwig) and Defensive Player of the Year (Lucas Williamson), with Krutwig also earning Associated Press Third Team All-America and MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
Loyola delivered a 21-win campaign in 2019-20, posting its fourth consecutive winning season. Four Ramblers captured All-Missouri Valley Conference honors, highlighted by Cameron Krutwig’s second straight first-team selection and Marquise Kennedy’s designation as the MVC Sixth Man of the Year.
During the 2018-19 season, Dokubo played a pivotal role behind the scenes as the Ramblers earned a second consecutive MVC regular-season championship as the program’s second straight postseason appearance, capturing a berth in the National Invitation Tournament.
While serving as a graduate assistant coach in 2016-17 and 2017-18, Dokubo helped the Ramblers to 50 total wins, including a school-record 32 victories in 2017-18, the program’s first NCAA tournament berth since 1985, a Final Four appearance and a No. 7 national ranking in the 2018 USA Today Coaches Poll.
With Dokubo on the staff as a volunteer assistant in 2015-16, Loyola won 15 games and saw a pair of players earn postseason honors from the MVC. Montel James collected Second Team All-MVC accolades, while Ben Richardson was a MVC Honorable Mention Scholar-Athlete Team selection.
After coming to Loyola as a walk-on, Dokubo earned a scholarship for his senior season in 2014-15. Known as a defensive stopper, he earned seven starts a freshman.
Off the court, Dokubo was a MVC Honor Roll designee and graduated from Loyola in 2015 with a degree in sport management and marketing and in 2018 earned a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola.
