Biography
Former Loyola student-athlete Joe Crisman is in his first year as the Ramblers' director of basketball operations. Crisman played for the Ramblers from 2011-15 and as a senior helped the team to the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) championship. "Joe is one of the best culture guys I have ever coached," Loyola head coach Porter Moser said. "He was part of a team that won 24 games, which was the most for Loyola in 30 years. Joe epitomizes what you want to teach your student-athletes and to have him join our staff will be beneficial, especially for all of our new guys. He is part of the Loyola family and I am fired up to have him back." Crisman was a steadying influence and a leader on the floor throughout his career, appearing in 121 contests, while making 98 starts. The Munster, Indiana native contributed 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest, with his best statistical season coming in 2011-12 when he put up 8.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg and 1.8 apg. During his junior campaign, Crisman committed just 30 turnovers in 890 minutes of action and poured in a career-best 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting against Evansville. Crisman had a standout career at Munster High School, where he averaged 17.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.0 spg en route to First Team Indiana Basketball Coaches Association All-State honors. Off the floor, Crisman excelled in the classroom, garnering Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic Team recognition, while also earning a spot in Loyola's prestigious Maroon & Gold Society. "I can't thank Coach Moser enough for this opportunity and am thrilled to be back at Loyola, though it feels as if I never left," Crisman said. "This university has meant so much to me and this is a great opportunity to give back to Loyola. It's good to be home and I look forward to helping the program reach new heights." Crisman graduated from Loyola in 2015 with a degree in finance.
