Katie Mather is in her first season as a student assistant coach after spending the previous two years as a setter on the Loyola University Chicago roster. Due to chronic injuries, Mather was forced to medically retire from playing following the 2020-21 season.

As a freshman in 2019, the Oak Lawn, Ill., native appeared in 107 sets for the Ramblers and doled out a team-best 678 assists, ranking sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference with 6.34 assists per set. She had an impressive collegiate debut that year, recording 50 assists and 11 digs, for her first career double-double, in the season opener versus Western Kentucky.

In an injury plagued sophomore campaign in 2020-21, Mather hit .294 (7-2-17) and ranked second on the team with 59 total assists in 14 sets of action.

Mather was a standout player at Marist High School, helping led her team to back-to-back IHSA Class 4A state titles in 2017 and 2018.

A two-time MVC Honor Roll selection, Mather is majoring in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience and minoring in psychology.
