Shaun Ermi joined the Loyola women's volleyball program in the spring of 2023 as an assistant coach.
Ermi spent the past season at Ohio State, serving as a volunteer assistant coach on the women’s program. Following the conclusion of the women’s volleyball season, Ermi joined the Buckeyes’ men’s program as a volunteer assistant. Ermi helped lead the women’s team to a No. 3 seed in the 2022 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament. The Buckeyes would advance to the regional finals, before falling to eventual national champion Texas.
Prior to his stint in Columbus, Ermi spent two seasons at Springfield College as an assistant coach for the men’s volleyball program. Ermi joined the college coaching ranks after coaching at the club level for Elite Volleyball Club from 2019 to 2020.
Ermi also spent this past summer as an assistant coach for the OVR Girls All-Stars at the 2022 USA National Team Development Program (NTDP) Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During his collegiate career, Ermi was a member of the Springfield men’s program, helping lead the team to a pair of Division III national championships and two runner-up finishes. He was named the recipient of the 2017 Tom Hay Leadership Award, which was voted on by players for consistent leadership, attitude, and dedication to the program. Ermi would go on to play overseas for the University of Essex Blades and Team Essex Blaze in the United Kingdom.
