Late Goals Doom Ramblers At Wright State, 2-1

Oct. 28, 2005

Dayton, Ohio - Wright State's Tony Labudovski scored in the 86th minute to give the Raiders a 2-1 win over Loyola this afternoon in Dayton, Ohio. The loss is the Ramblers' third consecutive setback on the road and sends the squad to 6-8-2 (3-3 Horizon).

Matt Marek gave the Ramblers the start they had been hoping for, taking a Keum Sung Kim cross and rolling one past the WSU keeper after just 63 seconds. Staunch defending helped Loyola take the one-goal lead into intermission but the hosts struck back 20 minutes into the second half, when Dana York put one into an open net after 65 minutes. With both teams pressing for the tie-breaker, a scrum in the box sent the ball to the feet of Labudovski whose shot was deflected into the net. Loyola had three shots in the final four minutes, one of which was saved while the other two failed to hit the target.

Loyola looks to regroup on Sunday when it hosts Cleveland State in its regular season finale. A win over the Vikings would secure a Horizon League Quarterfinal match at Loyola Soccer Park. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. with a pregame ceremony to honor the Ramblers' six seniors.
