Post-Game Quotes Loyola vs. San Diego November 20, 2006

Loyola Head Coach Jim Whitesell
Opening Statement
"It was a good job by our guys, but we have plenty to work on. We knew we had to play better and J.R. (Blount) and Blake both got in foul trouble but we had to play through it. Their pressure bothered us and we were too loose with the ball but they are one of the best teams in the West Coast Conference. We told our guys that what's important is who finishes strong, not who starts strong."

Loyola Guard Blake Schilb
About getting into early foul trouble
" I wanted to be aggressive. I came out with a chip on my shoulder (in regards to last year's game), Coach took me out, I cooled down and came back in."

Loyola Forward Leon Young
About the officiating
" I thought the referees called a good game. Fouls come with playing the game, and you can't make excuses, you just have roll with it."

San Diego Head Coach Brad Holland
Opening Statement
"I like our competitive spirit Being on the road against a good team we just didn't give ourselves a good enough opportunity to win."

On Loyola
"I think more than anything, I see experience. That team is older, wiser and ready to step up."

On Leon Young
"Leon is terrific. He's such a strong player. We like him."

San Diego Guard Ross DeRogatis
"I had open shots that I didn't knock down."
