Final Stats
Milwaukee, Wis. - Dana VanDiggelen recorded her ninth double-double of the season, finishing with 14 kills and 13 digs, but it was not enough as Loyola opened the second half of its Horizon League season with a 3-0 (30-24, 34-32, 30-21) setback against Horizon League co-leader Milwaukee tonight at the Klotsche Center. The Ramblers slump to 4-16 (1-8) while the Panthers improve to 17-2 (8-1).
"I thought it would have been a different match if we had been able to come up with some of the key points," said head coach Marcie Bomhack. "We had a nice comeback from 11-3 down in game two to force extra points and if we could have won that game it would have been a turning point. Milwaukee, especially Leanne Felsing and Jamie Gabrielsen, deserves the credit for playing a good match and working for the win."
Aside from VanDiggelen, the Ramblers received nine kills apiece from Sarah Singer and Mallory Curran. Keily Zins finished with seven kills and 10 digs while Alyse Serritella posted a team-high 16 digs from her libero spot.
Loyola wraps up its swing through Wisconsin tomorrow afternoon with a 4 p.m. match at Green Bay.
