CHICAGO - Amy Hyerczyk, a 2008 graduate of Butler University and a product of Stagg High School in the south suburbs of Chicago, has been named sports information intern at Loyola University Chicago, it was announced today. Hyerczyk will be the primary contact for the sports of men's soccer, men's volleyball and cross country/track and field, while assisting with all of the Ramblers' 15 varsity sports.
As an undergraduate student, at Butler Hyerczyk assisted in the sports information office and also gained experience working as an intern for the Indiana Pacers. In addition to those endeavors, the Palos Park, Ill., native served as a staff writer for Dawgnet, Butler's online, student-run website, and also spent time as a high school correspondent for the Daily Southtown.
Hyerczyk was also a standout softball player at Butler, twice earning First Team All-Horizon League honors as a first baseman. She finished her dazzling career as the school's career leader in hits (199), runs (83), at-bats (593), doubles (48), total bases (283), games played (196) and games started (196).
