Box Score

CHICAGO - The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Green Bay on Saturday night (Nov. 7) in the team's regular season finale. The Ramblers outshot the Phoenix (13-2-2, 6-2-2 Horizon League), 15-9, but Green Bay came out on top.

Loyola closes out the 2009 season with a 4-8-4 record overall after putting together a 1-5-4 record in Horizon League play. After finishing eighth, the Ramblers fail to qualify for the League Championship based on its new six-team format.

"I want to thank the seniors after four years and three Horizon League titles," said Loyola head coach Brendan Eitz. "Today was a game where we had nine shots on goal to our opponent's three, but unfortunately we weren't able to convert."

Scott Raymonds tallied the first goal of the game for Green Bay, capitalizing on a give-and-go play with J.C. Banks inside the box for the score in the 18th minute. The Phoenix extended its lead to 2-0 13 minutes later when Banks got into the scoring column himself, firing a shot from eight yards out past Loyola goalkeeper Christian Krueger.

A.J. Konchar recorded Green Bay's final goal of the night in the 49th minute, sending a failed clear by the Rambler defenders to the back of the net.
