Purdue/Midwest Shootout Final Results

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - On an unseasonably cool day, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team opened up the fall portion of its 2010-11 season by placing third at the five-team Purdue Shootout at the Kampen Course today. The Ramblers, who narrowly missed out on a second-place showing, posted a team score of 606, but host Purdue claimed the title with a 588.
Junior Erik Hoops paced the Ramblers with a 36-hole mark of 149 (72-77), which included an even-par 72 in the opening round. Seniors Dylan Gergen (73-78) and Sean Collopy (79-72) each fired a 151 to tie for 10th place, while Charlie Schaffer carded a 156 (79-77) to tie for 15th.
A pair of freshmen, Alex Cusumano (83-77) and Sean Hickey (81-79=160) tallied identical scores of 160 to tie for 20th place and round out the list of Loyola competitors.
Purdue's Adam Schenk notched a one-under-par 143 (72-71) to earn medalist honors.
Loyola is back in action Sept. 13-14, when it competes at the Green Bay Invitational.
