CHICAGO - Once again, Loyola University Chicago fans will be able to follow the action of their favorite fall sports teams by watching free live video of games on the Horizon League Network (HLN). This fall, a total of 16 home Loyola events will be streamed live at www.horizonleague.org.
The action gets underway this weekend, when the Loyola women's soccer team hosts Jesuit rival Gonzaga on Sunday, August 21 at 1 p.m. First-year head coach Barry Bimbi's squad is anxious to hit the field and will be buoyed by the return of its top four scorers from last season, including junior Kristin Papierski.
Loyola's men's soccer team will make its first HLN appearance on August 27 when it welcomes Drake to Loyola Soccer Park for a 7 p.m. contest in the regular-season opener for both clubs. The Ramblers tied for third place in the Horizon League race last fall and welcome back their leading scorer from 2010, junior forward Eric Nock, and senior goalkeeper Peter McKeown.
Finally, the Rambler women's volleyball team, which will be playing its 2011 home games in the Halas Center on the Lake Shore Campus, takes to the court for the first time under new coach Chris Muscat this season. Muscat's squad will make its first appearance on the HLN on September 23 at 7 p.m. when city and Horizon League rival UIC pays a visit to Rogers Park. Loyola returns junior outside hitter Diana Schulte, who ranked third on the squad with 242 kills a year ago.
