CHICAGO - Thomas Jaeschke led the Ramblers with a match-high 15 kills as the Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball team eased past McKendree (25-11, 25-22, 25-14) on Senior Night inside Gentile Arena. With the win, the Ramblers improve to 21-22 on the season and 13-2 in MIVA play.

The Ramblers raced out to an early lead to begin set one, scoring seven straight points to force a McKendree timeout. Loyola then scored four of the next five points coming out of the timeout behind a pair of kills from Jeff Jendryk, along with one apiece from Jaeschke and Cody Caldwell, to take an 11-1 lead. The Ramblers maintained the steady lead before a 4-0 run, led by kills from Jaeschke and Matt Phillips, as well as a Jaeschke service ace, increased the lead to 17-4. Loyola continued to pull away behind kills from Derek Guimond, Phillips and Jendryk, before back-to-back blocks gave the Ramblers a 24-10 advantage. McKendree scored on a Rambler service error before the Bearcats committed an error of their own to give Loyola the 25-11 first-set victory. The Ramblers were an unstoppable force at the net in set one, accumulating a .600 hitting percentage while holding McKendree to .000.

McKendree came alive to begin the second set, jumping out to a 7-2 lead to force a Loyola timeout. The Bearcats scored three of the next four points out of the timeout, but the Ramblers responded by scoring four unanswered, a block by Phillips and Guimond, followed by kills from Jaeschke and Guimond, to cut the lead to 10-7 and force a McKendree timeout. The teams traded points until Loyola put together a 5-1 run, with Jaeschke and Phillips firing two kills apiece, to pull within one. The Ramblers then managed to tie the game and eventually take the lead on back-to-back McKendree errors, causing the Bearcats to use their second and final timeout. Loyola rallied out of the timeout, as Jendryk, Phillips and Jaeschke all recorded kills before a McKendree error ended the second set, 25-22.

Jeff Jendryk fired three straight kills to begin set three en route to Loyola taking an early 4-1 lead. McKendree managed to pull within one point, and the teams battled back-and-forth until back-to-back kills from Jaeschke and Owen McAndrews, followed by a Bearcat attack error, gave the Ramblers a 10-5 lead. After a service error gave McKendree a point, Loyola put together a 3-0 run behind kills from Caldwell and Jendryk, along with a McAndrews service ace, to increase the lead to 13-6 and force a Bearcat timeout. The Ramblers maintained the steady lead until Jaeschke fired three kills to head a 4-1 Loyola run and increase the lead to 21-11. After a Caldwell kill, three McKendree errors ended the set at 25-14, giving Loyola the three-set sweep.

The Ramblers wrap up the regular season tomorrow with a matchup against No. 10 Ohio State at 7:00 p.m. inside Gentile Arena.
