Loyola hit a blazing .567 en route to sweeping Erskine on Friday night inside Gentile Arena. The victory marks Loyola's fourth straight and improves the Ramblers' record to 4-2, while Erskine drops to 1-2.

How It Happened
Both teams came out hot to open the match, trading points behind
back-and-forth kills, until Loyola scored six of the next eight to take a four-point lead. The run was led by kills from Trevor Novotny, Ricky Gevis and Collin Mahan before a solo block from Jeff Jendryk and a Nick Olson service ace upped the score to 21-17, and the Ramblers held on to take set one.

The Rambler defense took over in set two, as the team recorded 6.5 blocks en route to holding Erskine to a .071 hitting percentage. Five different Ramblers recorded blocks during the set, led by four from Owen McAndrews, along with three apiece from Ricky Gevis and Trevor Novotny. The team recorded 10 kills during the second set, including a combined seven from Gevis and Novotny.

Loyola stayed hot in the third set, tallying 15 kills without committing a single error. The Ramblers opened the set with eight kills to take an early 11-5 lead over Erskine and never looked back, going on to claim the third set and the overall victory. Seven different Ramblers recorded at least one kill during the third set, including sophomore Ryan Jamison, who notched a career-high two.

- Loyola posted its highest hitting clip of the season in the victory, outhitting Erskine.597 to .159. The team committed just two errors throughout the match, and went the entire third set without an attack error.
- Loyola outhit the Flying Fleet .789 to .000 in the third set, with seven different Ramblers recording at least one kill.
- The Ramblers totaled 12.5 blocks, the most in a three-set match this season, en route to holding Erskine to a mere .159 hitting clip, the lowest for an opponent so far this season. Nick Olson led Loyola with five blocks, while Peter Hutz, Trevor Novotny and Owen McAndrews each added four apiece.
