Team USA Release
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (October 18, 2017) – Chris Strup, a 2016 graduate of Loyola University Chicago and four-year letterwinner on the Ramblers' track & field team, has been selected to represent USA Skeleton in the upcoming North American Cup, it was announced today by the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation.

Strup (2013-2016) enjoyed a wildly successful career during his time with the Maroon & Gold. The Defiance, Ohio product graduated as the program's outdoor school record holder in the 100m dash (10.39) and also ranks in the top 10 in the indoor 60m (2
nd, 6.82) and 200m (3
rd, 21.74) dashes and the outdoor 200m dash (2
nd, 20.97).Â

Strup, who burst onto the scene as a freshman by earning Horizon League Newcomer of the Year honors, ran on a pair of conference championship 4x100m relay teams during his time with the Ramblers, an event in which each he contributed to each of the 10 fastest times in program history. A 10-time podium finisher between the Horizon League and Missouri Valley Conference, Strup was a three-time qualifier for the NCAA West Regional.

The first leg of the North American Cup is scheduled to take place in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, Oct. 31-Nov. 7. Action in the men's skeleton is slated for Nov. 4-5.Â
